Mission:
To encourage, promote, and educate Republican women to be better voters, to work for the elections of Republican candidates and to run for elected office.
To recruit and sustain a strong base of women activist to help build the Republican Party and ultimately win elections.
Our History:
In 2010 a group of women gathered to start a county wide Republican organization. As our goal was to unite women throughout Kane count. Although we are a new organization our charter dates back to December 13, 1923, when we merged with Aurora Republican Women .
The opening entry in their first book of minutes reads: "A group of women met in the Chamber of Commerce rooms and the Republican Women's Club of Aurora was organized. Mrs. Anne Forsythe gave an earnest talk on the importance of organization."
Kane County Republican Women's Organization has elected to continue the Mary Richards Scholarship , honoring former Kane County Board member and longtime Aurora member, for her dedicated service and work establishing the pre natal care program of the Kane County Health Department.
Another tradition the Charlotte T. Reid Republican Women of the Year Award, honors a KCRWO member for her work both within the club and in the community. The award is named after Congresswomen Charlotte T. Reid for her ground breaking service in Congress back in 1963, and for the encouragement she gave to women to run for political office.
Even with this rich and long history we are a new and vibrant organization. We have been energized by the merger and look forward to great things to come for Kane County.
